Compare ZC-30DC · 37.5 kVA catalogue specifications →For this order from Kenya, the customer requested a brand-new diesel generator set powered by a Cummins engine, with a built-in automatic transfer switch (ATS) for switching between mains electricity and generator power. Before dispatch, she also asked her freight forwarder to review the packaging.
The diesel generator supplied was a 37.5 kVA model with a sound-attenuated enclosure. On 8 December 2025, we delivered it to the customer's nominated freight-forwarding warehouse in Guangzhou, China.
A new diesel generator for backup power
In November 2025, the customer discussed a sound-attenuated diesel generator powered by a Cummins engine with us on WhatsApp. She specifically asked us to ensure that it was new, not second-hand. We confirmed that the diesel generator would be new. This order was for one diesel generator set.
The accompanying specification sheet lists prime power as 30 kW / 37.5 kVA, with a CUMMINS 4BT3.9-G2 engine. It also lists a 400/230 V, 50 Hz, three-phase configuration at 1500 rpm.
- Prime power: 30 kW / 37.5 kVA.
- Engine model: CUMMINS 4BT3.9-G2.
- Enclosure: silent canopy.
- Key configuration discussed: built-in ATS for mains/generator changeover.
At a power factor of 0.8, 30 kW corresponds to 37.5 kVA. Both values describe the output of the same diesel generator set.
Confirming the built-in automatic transfer switch
On 25 November, the customer explained that the generator was for backup power. She wanted to know how to change from normal electricity to generator power. We explained the role of the automatic transfer switch, or ATS.
On 27 November, we sent the canopy style being produced in the workshop for her approval. After accepting its appearance, she checked the ATS requirement again.
Customer message, 27 November: “Confirm it has an built-in ATS,if so it's ok”. Our reply was: “ATS is standard for us.”
The control-panel photograph below shows the equipment supplied, including the ATS operating position. Specific controller functions should be checked against the actual controller and the documentation supplied with this unit.
Workshop photos and the test update
The workshop photographs show the closed canopy, internal layout with the service doors open, and engine details.
On 1 December, we sent test material on WhatsApp and described one video as a dual-power automatic changeover test. We also reported that production was complete and that the tests were normal at that time. Detailed readings and test conditions belong in the corresponding factory test record.
Packaging reviewed with the customer's freight agent
On 2 December, the customer asked for clear packaging photos so that her cargo agent could advise her. She then requested light timber protection on the sides to help prevent scratches, rather than treating the standard packaging arrangement as automatically acceptable.
We discussed the forklift openings in the base and protection around the upper corners, then arranged the packaging. After receiving packaging-related photos on 3 December, she replied: “That’s quite ok.”
Handover in Guangzhou on 8 December
The customer nominated a freight forwarder in China and supplied the Guangzhou warehouse details. We arranged the domestic handover accordingly.
On 8 December 2025, we sent handover photos and wrote: “The generator set has been delivered to the warehouse of the freight forwarder.” The customer replied with thank-you emojis that evening.
This case records delivery to the freight-forwarding warehouse in Guangzhou. Ocean transport, receipt in Kenya and installation or operating feedback require separate confirmation from the customer.
Further enquiries after handover
In December 2025 and early 2026, the same customer asked about 500–750 kVA generators, including sound-attenuated enclosures and container-loading dimensions. We continued discussing configuration and shipping arrangements in response to those enquiries.
